Out with the frights and in with the festivities! By all accounts, 2025’s Halloweekend was a haunting success, with Scotties all around partying it up all around Atlanta, but now that Halloween is over and Thanksgiving is at the back of everyone’s minds, it’s time to defrost the Mariah Carey and kick on the fireplace in McCain for the winter holidays! Cozy up with a new literary exhibit at Emory or warm yourself up with a good old fashioned mosh at Boggs Social and keep up with more festive events as Ramona’s Round-Up continues to keep you informed on the latest and greatest around Decatur.
What: 5th Annual Red Dresses Exhibit
When: November 3rd through November 11th
Where: The Al-Trellis Garden next to the Alston Campus Center
How much: Completely free!!
Why: Visit the 5th Annual Red Dresses Exhibit, annual art installation in honor of Indigenous Heritage Month that recognizes the lives of the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit People. The exhibit features a series of red dresses hung throughout the garden with each dress representing the life of someone that was taken far too soon. Agnes opens the exhibit to all and hopes that the community can join in learning about and paying tribute to the memories of those lost.
What: Striking Characters: Typewriters, Literary Worlds, and the Art of Tim Youd
When: November 2nd through December 20th
Where: The Woodruff Library on Level 3 at Emory, located at 540 Asbury Circle
How much: Free!
Why: Head over to Emory to experience this one-of-a-kind performance art piece where Tim Youd will be retyping famous novels on the original typewriters they were written on, a feat he is only able to manage after hunting down the machines himself! Some of the works he will be retyping during this performance include Bram Stoker’s Dracula and L. Frank Baum’s The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. Surrounding Youd will also be a collection of his own sculptures and other artwork, as well as other historic typewriters. Take a bite of literary history and witness the lost art of type!
What: Bone for the Holidays
When: Saturday, November 8th at 8 PM
Where: Boggs Social, located at 1310 White St SW
How much: Tickets are $15, with all proceeds going to Punk Rock Saves Lives
Why: The holidays are coming early! Come join Atlanta’s thriving punk rock community, listen to some amazing music, two-step your heart out, and help support a good cause as all proceeds go to Punk Rock Saves Lives, an amazing charity that helps do things like swab cheeks to help find matches in the bone marrow database, hand out harm-reduction supplies like Narcan, and work to destigmatize mental health. The show features four bands local to Georgia and is assured to be a night to remember.
What: Emo Nite
When: Friday, November 7th at 9 PM
Where: Heaven, Hell, and Purgatory at The Masquerade, located at 50 Lower Alabama St SW, Ste. 22
How much: Tickets are $27.57, taxes and fees included
Why: Get ready to stand sadly in a corner at what is assured to be the Masq’s best Emo Nite yet! The three main halls will each feature different elements, with Nash Overstreet from Hot Chelle Rae, Nathan Hardy & Tito Pittard from Microwave in Heaven, live performances in Hell, and deep cuts all night in Purgatory!
What: Matchafest ATL
When: Saturday, November 8th at noon
Where: 5105 Peachtree Industrial Blvd, Building 2
How much: Tickets go for between $7.75 and $42.33, taxes and fees included
