Dear Claire Voyant,
I’m struggling to keep up with my classes, I am in a lot of different clubs, and I feel like maybe I have too much on my plate, but at this point, I have already made commitments, so I don’t feel like I can back out.
Sincerely,
Chronically Busy
Dear Chronically Busy,
I completely understand the feeling. I struggle with people-pleasing tendencies as well, and my schedule is stacked this semester. One way I take care of myself is by carving out intentional time every week to have fun, or even just go grab a smoothie. It might be too late to drop things class-wise, but remember that you come first. If you need to take a step back from a club or two for a semester, that is more than understandable. Our lives are in a constant ebb and flow. I don’t think anyone will be too upset if you have to miss a club meeting in order to recenter yourself. And remember, you can’t give from an empty cup.
Sincerely, Claire Voyant
